NTI Trains 4,070 Primary School Teachers

The National Teachers’ Institute (NTI), has commenced training of four thousand and seventy primary school teachers across the nation.

The Director-General of the institution Prof Aminu Sharehu revealed this while speaking at flag off ceremony of the 2014 Millennium Development Goals’ Nationwide Capacity Building Workshop for primary school teachers held in Dutse Jigawa state capital.
He said the aims of the training is to improve the capacity of the teachers on four focal areas for better service delivery.
Mr Sharehu added that, the training was also designed to address the skill gaps of teachers to enable them teach in a modern and perfect method.
The DG stated that the NTI had taken time to select resource persons that were most competent and qualified to facilitate the program.
“Let me assure you that the institute has the capacity to conduct any professional training for the teeming population of teachers in Nigeria today.
“We also have a comparable advantage of sourcing most qualified and competent resource persons for any given workshop for Nigerian teachers,” said Sharehu.
The DG, therefore, urged the participants to strive and make the best use of the opportunity given to them.
Speaking at the occasion,the state minister for State education professor Viola Onwuliri who was represented by the former Jigawa state Governor Barrister Ali sa’ad, reaffirmed the commitment of the federal Government toward improving the general well-being of the education sector for better and brighter future of the nation.
