Lebanese fashion designer Basil Soda dies

 

Soda, who spent two decades dealing in the world of fashion before starting his own clothing line in 2001, died at a Beirut hospital Monday after a two-year battle with an illness, a close aide told TheDaily Star.

He opened his own design house in Horsh Tabet, east of Beirut, in 2009.

The famous designer dressed a large number of Hollywood stars as well as celebrities from around the world, including Katy Perry, Emily Blunt, Marion Cotillard, Jiang Yiyan, Morena Baccarrin and Guiliana Rancic.

In respect to the presidential polls,Buhari was leading President Goodluck Jonathan of the Peoples Democratic Party, polling 108,817 votes from six LGAs against Jonathan’s 84,555 in five LGAs.

Buhari won in Governor Idris Wada’s local government of Dekina with 18, 819 votes to Jonathan’s 13,885 votes.

The APC candidate also won in Amadu Ali’s local government of Idah with 10,445 votes to Jonathan’s 6,113.

President Jonathan arrived at Bayelsa state yesterday for presidential polls. According to INEC reports in Bayelsa state during the accreditation,INEC card reader failed to identify GEJ and Wife.
