Police Nab 9 Students who killed a lecturer, Recover Arms

The Rivers State Police command has arrested nine suspected cultists in Okwuzi community of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government area.

Some others were also, arrested near Eagle Island in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.
A statement issued in Port Harcourt yesterday and signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Ahmad Muhammed, said seven of the suspected cultists were arrested at Okwuzi community following a tip-off on planned battle of supremacy between two notorious cult groups, Deygbam and Deewell.
Muhammed gave the names of the arrested suspected cultists as Chinazo Amaechi, Nna Chisom, Solomon Ossai, Regimus Igwelatu, Monday Jackson, Chinonso Fordima, and Tony Amanya
He said another two suspected cultists were arrested at the back gate of Rivers State University of Science and Technology (RSUST) while initiating new members when policemen swooped on them.
The police image maker gave the names of those arrested to include, Joel Ozekume, a final year student of RSUST, and Princewill Brown, a graduate of the Cross River State University of Technology (CRUTECH).
Muhammed stated that items recovered from the seven suspected cultists included one pump action gun, four live cartridges, one double barrel gun, a Honda jeep, a Toyota Camry saloon, two laptops, and assorted charms, while one Beretta pistol and three rounds of .9mm ammunition were recovered from the two arrested at RSUST back gate.
