204 aspirants pick forms for Benue governorship, others

 


NO fewer than 204 aspirants on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC) have procured their expression of interest and nomination forms to contest for the various elective positions, including the governorship, in the forthcoming general elections in Benue State.
   Of the number, 145 aspirants are of the PDP, 100 of whom are vying for the House of Assembly seat, seven for the House of Representative, seven others for Senate and eight for governorship.

   On the other hand, there are 59 applications from the APC, three of whom are vying for governorship, four for Senate, 10 for House of Representatives and 42 for House of Assembly.
   PDP state financial secretary, Danjuma Sule, disclosed to newsmen that they were still expecting intending aspirants to procure their forms before the expiration period today. However, he expressed satisfaction with the turn-up of aspirants for the forms, assuring that the secretariat would continue to provide a level playing ground for all aspirants.
   Similarly, the APC administrative secretary, Mark Hanmation, said the sale of House of Assembly form would end this Friday while those for National Assembly and governorship would end on the 17th of this month.
   He, too, was happy at the turnout of aspirants for the forms, saying it was evidence that the APC is well acceptable in the state. He assured aspirants of level playing field even as he urged more contenders to come for the forms.
